Videos keep visitors for longer. Comescore‘s research shows that visitors who view videos stay two minutes longer that average visitors and they are also 64% more likely to purchase. The longer visitors stay on your site, the more likely they are to use your products or services. Visitors prefer watching videos instead of reading a long explanation about a product or service. It’s not that strange, if you think about it. Forbes believes it’s all about psychology. Videos use the four areas that humans are programmed to pay attention to; faces, voices, body language and movement. Videos are also much easier to make sense of and understand.

A picture says 1000 words, but a video says even more. For example, Zappos began using videos on numerous product pages. This resulted in their sales increasing between 6 and 30% for the items that they used videos for. In addition, people are more likely to trust a website with videos than one without.

A video offers you more than one way to persuade your visitors. You can say more in a video than in copy. According to Unbounce, a video that shows visitors the value of what you offer can improve your conversions by 20%. Instead of getting 2-10 seconds of time of your visitors, you get 2 minutes.
